    Formerly, blue diamonds were found for the first time in India. Then, they also found in South Africa.

    Some of the blue diamonds have property as natural semiconductors. This is one property of blue diamonds that makes them different from other diamonds. Most other diamonds are electrical insulators. The color and conductivity of blue diamonds came from the trace amounts of boron impurity in the diamond’s crystal structure.

    Over the years, people developed technique to create blue diamond stone. Common diamond is treated with addition of boron, or irradiating, and followed by heat treatment. This treatment result in enhanced blue diamond with blue color nearly the same as the natural blue diamonds.

    The most famous blue diamond is The Hope Diamond. It is the largest blue diamond in the world with 45.5 carat weight. This jewelry has a marvellous deep grayish-blue color. Some people used to believe that it was cursed.

    Another blue diamond that very expensive is Wittelsbach Diamond. It is once belong to the King of Spain. This blue diamond is a 35.5 carat fancy deep blue diamond with antique oval stellar brilliant cut. Wittelsbach Diamond has a value of $24 million, sold at Christie’s auction in London on December 2008.

    Blue diamonds have sparkle which is not exist in other stones. The other blue gemstone is sapphire, and it is not as sparkling as blue diamond. Also, blue diamonds are much harder than sapphires and more durable.

    Today, blue diamonds jewelry are available in various setting. There are blue diamond rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, earrings, and many other jewelry.     Black diamonds are called Carbonado by Brazillian. Carbonado means carbonized or burnt. The appearance of black diamonds are dark, but they are not truly black. Black diamonds contain a lot of dark inclusions that make them seem dark to the eyes.

    Black diamonds are not the same as other diamonds. These diamonds are very rare, they only found in Brazil and Central African Republic. While conventional diamonds are mined in other places around the world, black diamonds are never discovered in those conventional mining fields.

    It is believed that black diamonds came from outer space. Scientist said that black diamonds formed in a supernova explosion. Black diamonds inside meteorites then came to the earth billions of years ago. Since the origin of black diamonds is from interstellar space, it makes sense that they are extremely rare.

    Common diamonds have brilliance appearance and they are sparkling bright to the eyes. Black diamonds don’t have that sparkling, but still people attracted on these stunning jewelry. Black diamond jewelry become more popular recently.
