    The diamonds are placed in many piece of jewelry with different kind of diamond setting. Diamond setting is also called diamond mounting. There are a lot of diamond setting available today, which you can choose according to your own personal style.

    Diamond setting is affecting the light performance of a diamond. Light performance in the gem trade means three light properties, these are brilliance, fire and scintillation. Diamond that is said to be high in light performance means that the diamond is well cut and polished.

    There are many kind of diamond setting, and the most common diamond setting is Prong. In the prong setting, there are 3, 4 or 6 ‘claws’ that held the diamond securely. This diamond setting allows light to enter the diamond from all angles, so the diamond appears more brilliant. The prong settings are used in diamonds jewelry such as rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

    One type of prong setting is Tiffany setting. This is a diamond jewelry with four prong setting. The Tiffany setting was produced for the first time in 1886.

    The next common diamond setting is Bezel. In the bezel setting, the diamond is placed inside a circle of metal. The edge of the metal can be molded into any shape to accommodate the stone.
